A workshop focusing on Agri – Business Investment Promotion in Africa was held in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province on December 21, 2018.
The Workshop was aimed at further promoting investment opportunities and recruiting more potential Chinese investors and companies in agriculture and agro-processing sector to invest in Africa.
On the event, Ethiopian Embassy in Beijing represented by Charge d’affaires interim, Mr. Genet Teshome, presented Ethiopia’s great potential of fertile lands, abundant raw material resources and sufficient and capable labor force supply that are available for competitive wage for investors and companies interested to engage in agriculture and agro-processing industrial investments in Ethiopia. The Charge d’affaires also encouraged Hebei Enterprises in the industry to go and make a pre-investment visit to Ethiopia. He also encouraged the investors to tap the market access opportunity to the USA, EU and COMESA and witness Ethiopia’s government full commitment in providing infrastructural facilities, tax holidays and other incentive packages.
The event provided opportunities for Chinese agriculture society with a better understanding of the great potential Ethiopia can offer in agriculture and agro-processing investment sectors.
The workshop was finally concluded with a fruitful site visit and networking events with enterprises and companies in Hebei Province.
